Why at home

The territory stays. Only you are away for a while.

For cats, home matters more than almost anything else. A cattery means strange smells, strange sounds, strange animals. At home everything stays as it is: the favourite spot by the window, the usual routine, their own litter box.

I come to you and feed, care for and play with your cat according to its habits. And I pay attention to how your cat is doing — not just whether the bowl is empty.

Safety

What you can rely on

You're entrusting me with two things that matter a lot to you: your cat and your key. That's why every step is clearly arranged.

Meet first

No booking without a personal conversation and a visit to your home. Your cat meets me before being alone with me.

Your key

Handover and return confirmed in writing. Stored without name or address. A written agreement covers everything else.

After every visit

You receive a message with a photo: Did your cat eat? What was the mood like? Was anything unusual? So you stay connected, even from afar.

Who comes to you

An expert, not a stand-in.

I'm Daria Klisch. Cats have been part of my life for more than 20 years, and I've lived with my own for 15 — three today. In Greece I looked after up to 15 cats at a time: outdoor and indoor cats, from five-day-old kittens to old age.

I also work as a psychological counsellor. I know it isn't easy to hand a family member over to someone else. Both matter to me: the cat and the person who entrusts it to me.

More about me

My cats

From three weeks to thirteen years.

Kittens that need round-the-clock care. Older cats with their own needs. Outdoor and indoor cats. These are my cats.

How it works

Four steps to cat care

  1. 1

    Call

Free, by phone or video. You tell me about your cat, I tell you about my work.

  2. 2

    Visit

I come to you and get to know your cat: food, routines, hiding places, quirks, vet.

  3. 3

    Agreement

We put dates, services and emergency arrangements in writing. Then you hand me the key.

  4. 4

    Care

I look after your cat as agreed. After every visit you receive a message with a photo.

Expertise and sensitivity. For you and your cat.

Frequently asked questions

What you'd like to know first

You'll find all prices under Services & prices.

Why can't I simply book online?

Because trust isn't built with a click. Before any care begins, we get to know each other in a short conversation and a visit to your home. That way your cat meets me before being alone with me, and you know who you are giving your key to.

How often should my cat be visited?

Usually once a day. For kittens, older cats, cats on medication or cats that really need company, I recommend two visits a day. We'll discuss what suits your cat when we meet.

What happens if my cat isn't well?

I'll contact you immediately. When we meet, we put in writing which vet your cat knows, who I can reach in an emergency and what you would like. That way I can act without delay if it matters.

How safe is my house key?

The handover is confirmed in writing. Your key is stored without name or address and is never labelled with your details. After the care period you get it back in person, again with written confirmation.

Do you also look after shy cats and outdoor cats?

Yes. I have looked after indoor and outdoor cats, very trusting ones and very cautious ones. Shy cats get time and space. I never push myself on them, I follow the cat's pace.

Are you insured?

Yes. I have business liability insurance. Viennacats is a registered business in Vienna, and you receive an invoice for every booking.

Are overnight stays possible?

Yes, by arrangement. This makes sense if your cat doesn't like being alone at night, needs medication at fixed times or you're away for longer. We'll clarify the details in our first conversation.
